Thought I'd ask in a new post. I just re-headed my tupan using 4 rings and a mali weave (1st time), and all seems to be well. How do I fine tune the drum having used this method? I applied the locking knots all the way around one time. Now that the skins are dry, the drum sounded pretty tight, so I un-did some of the knots, leaving a length of rope that I just tucked under some verticals.
Is this how I fine tune (putting in and taking out locking knots as I need to)?
Thanks.
Ken
